Jeanne "Jea" M. Wolohan Lambert

1st Vice President, Kendall School's 150th Anniversary Reunion

Born in Washington, DC on June 2, 1943 at Columbia Hospital for Women where all her three siblings were also born. Lost her hearing at age of one (1) year old with spinal meningitis. With her father being a military (Navy) man, her family transferred couple times to Louisiana and Texas before moving back to Washington, DC when Jeanne (Jea) was two and half. Prior to moving back, her parents searched for the school for the Deaf in the U.S. and on the very last day, her father had to make his final decision as to where he was to transfer and luckily for him, he got the telegram from Dr. Leonard M. Elstad, the 3rd President of Gallaudet University so they moved back to Washington, DC where she enrolled the pre-school at KSD in 1946 until she graduated in 1961. There, went to Gallaudet University from 1961 to 1964. Got married in 1968 and eventually had a daughter, Justina and a son, Jovian who are now in their 30’s. Previously lived in Arizona for 5 years before moving back here since late 2002. Is now retired and love to read, swim, hike, and crochet.
